Q: Why do HDG nuts feel "loose" on a standard bolt? A: Because they are Oversized Tapped. They are designed to have extra space to fit the thick zinc coating of an HDG bolt. On a standard bolt, the gap is too wide, which significantly reduces the stripping strength of the joint.

 

Q: Can I use HDG nuts with Stainless Steel bolts? A: ロンゼ does not recommend this. Pairing HDG carbon steel with stainless steel can lead to galvanic corrosion, which will degrade the nut's zinc coating prematurely.
