DIN 7991 Hex Socket Flat Head Bolts | Countersunk Cap Screws | GFM-WCR System
lisa@lzfasteners.com
DIN 7991 (now often integrated with ISO 10642) is the industrial standard for Hexagon Socket Countersunk Head Screws. This fastener is engineered for applications requiring a flush surface finish without sacrificing the high-torque capabilities of a hexagonal socket drive. In the GFM-WCR System, DIN 7991 is categorized as a precision architectural and mechanical screw, essential for safety-critical surfaces where protruding heads are not permitted.
The defining feature of a DIN 7991 bolt is its 90° conical head, designed to sit within a countersunk hole. This alignment ensures that the screw head remains perfectly level with the mating material, preventing snags and allowing other components to pass over the joint freely. Unlike a standard DIN 912 socket head, the DIN 7991 distributes its clamping force along the conical interface, making it ideal for fastening thin plates to heavy frames in machinery, electronics, and aerospace interiors.
All ISO / DIN / ASME product pages will later be connected into a unified internal authority network after full product system completion.

The technical focus of DIN 7991 is Flush-Fit Integration and Shear Load Stability. By utilizing a countersunk geometry, the screw effectively centers itself within the hole, providing high positional accuracy. In the GFM-WCR framework, we provide DIN 7991 in Property Class 10.9 and 12.9 to compensate for the reduced head volume. It is important to note that due to the head shape, these fasteners are not intended for high-tensile loads compared to DIN 912; they are optimized for maintaining a clean aerodynamic or mechanical profile.
