Avoid Pitfalls:

• Material Mismatch: Never use a stainless steel rivet on an aluminum sheet unless you use a barrier coating. This prevents Galvanic Corrosion (the aluminum will rot away). Longze recommends matching the rivet material to the base material.

• Incorrect Length Selection: A rivet that is too long will bend rather than expand; one that is too short won't form a secure shop head. As a rule of thumb, use a length = Total Material Thickness + 1.5x Rivet Diameter.

• Work Hardening: If you hammer the rivet too much, it becomes brittle. Our Annealed Series rivets are designed to flow smoothly with minimal force, ensuring a tight, crack-free head.

Perfect Fit Assembly:

• Matched Rivet Sets: Use the correct concave "rivet set" tool that matches the DIN 660 head radius. Using a flat tool on a round head will deform the aesthetic and weaken the joint.

• Hole Clearance: For the best expansion, ensure your drill bit is 0.1mm - 0.2mm larger than the rivet diameter.
